THE TEAM

Darren S. Cook: Director

A multi award-winning director and editor, over a thirty-year career Darren has worked on many high-profile music videos, TV and film projects. Beginning editing, he worked his way through various filmmaking disciplines, culminating in his directing debut at 3 Mills Studios, International School of Screen Acting, where he shot and edited final graduate pieces for BAFTA screening.

Entering one of those films, Broken Silence, into the Cannes Short Film Corner in 2011, Darren won the Coup de Coeur. Various other award nominations followed for a variety of short films culminating in his feature film directing debut, Lucas and Albert, winning the ultimate accolade, Best Feature Film, at the 2021 National Film Awards.

Trespass will build on Darren’s success and reputation; other current projects include The Babysitters (from the Lucas and Albert team), Believe and Achieve (a documentary on team BRIT), and School of the Living Dead (co-written by Chris and Mark).

Chris Kinsville-Heyne: Writer

A man of many talents, alongside his writing career Chris Kinsville-Heyne is a Professor of Leadership & Strategy at Hult International Business School and a former Royal Engineers Intelligence Officer in the British army, serving in most NATO countries.

After leaving the army Chris founded C3i Strategic Solutions management consultancy, advising the US State Department, UK Civil Service, the European Union and personally training the Prime Minister of Iraq before he took office following the Gulf War. He has been published in the Harvard Business Review for his views on Crisis Communications and Management, in particular on ISIS.

When he’s not travelling the world lecturing, Chris is also a supporting actor, appearing in the BBC series The Trial of Christine Keeler and Killing Eve, and numerous television adverts. He has written and co-written a number of books and three screenplays with Mark, and is a self-confessed cinema geek.

Mark Leigh: Writer

Mark has had a far-less exciting career than his co-writer Chris, splitting his time between a career in writing and marketing, where he has advised blue-chip brands including Apple, IBM, Volkswagen and De Beers.

His writing career to date includes 57 books (3 best-sellers) including co-writing with Jeremy Beadle, Julian Clary, Chris Tarrant and Ade Edmondson. Apart from the UK he has been published in the US, Japan, South Korea, France, the Czech Republic and Germany.

Mark’s TV work has included scriptwriting and script editing for a host of UK comedians (receiving an award for his work with London Weekend Television), and acting as writer and producer for the Discovery TV series Beyond Belief. In addition to co-writing Trespass, Mark has also written three other screenplays which are in various stages of development, including a short film, He Came From The Moon, due to go into production later this year. Or maybe next.
